AES Panamá Signs Agreement with the Smithsonian for 100% Renewable Energy Supply

AES Panamá and the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) have signed an electricity supply agreement under the Large Customer modality, through which AES Panamá becomes the official energy provider for this renowned scientific institution.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, AES Panamá will provide International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs), certifying that the energy consumed by the Institute’s four main facilities comes from 100% renewable sources.
“This agreement reaffirms our vision to lead the country’s energy transition and to offer sustainable solutions that support our clients’ growth,” said Miguel Bolinaga, President of AES Panamá. “We are proud to support the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, a key institution in the conservation and scientific understanding of our biodiversity.”
