Fundación AES Panamá’s Successful Participation at the 2025 Panama International Book Fair
August 18, 2025
Fundación AES Panamá successfully concluded its participation in the 2025 Panama International Book Fair—held from August 11 to 17 at the Atlapa Convention Center—with a fully educational proposal centered on the book “Discover Energy with Lucía Spark.” The initiative brings the world of energy closer to children and young people, strengthening energy literacy through curiosity and play.
“Participating in the International Book Fair is key to our mission: bringing knowledge about energy to all ages and promoting safe, efficient, and responsible habits in its use. With Lucía Spark, we show that learning science can be approachable, fun, and purpose-driven,” said Stephanie Lezcano, Executive Director of Fundación AES Panamá.
In the same vein, Miguel Bolinaga, President of AES Panamá, highlighted the strategic focus of the organization’s presence: “Through Fundación AES Panamá, we created this space at the International Book Fair so that children and young people can discover—through fun and educational experiences—how we generate clean energy from renewable sources and natural gas. We want future generations to understand the importance of caring for our planet and to know that ensuring tomorrow’s energy is a shared commitment we build together. We support Fundación AES Panamá because investing in education today means securing the development of tomorrow’s Panama.”
Over the seven days of the fair, the Foundation’s stand welcomed a steady flow of families, teachers, and students who explored—through simple and engaging activities—how energy works in everyday life. Inspired by the book, interactive dynamics helped children learn the difference between renewable and non-renewable sources, the importance of energy efficiency, and the safe use of energy.
The results exceeded expectations: approximately 5,500 visitors stopped by the stand throughout the week, and more than 2,000 free copies of “Discover Energy with Lucía Spark” were distributed.
For Fundación AES Panamá, energy education is an inherent responsibility of companies in the energy sector. The Book Fair proved to be a valuable meeting point for building knowledge as a community—connecting children’s curiosity with science and technology content and fostering intergenerational dialogue about energy. This knowledge prepares future generations to develop awareness and be ready to face the energy challenges that lie ahead for the country.
